Now that everyone knows who The Flash is (courtesy of CW’s hit TV show The Flash) and Quicksilver (thanks to the smash hit Avengers: Age of Ultron) it’s time to do another Marvel vs DC. This time let’s dive into who’s better: Quicksilver or The Flash?
Also known as Pietro Django Maximoff, Quicksilver is the mutant son of Magneto, twin to his sister Wanda (aka Scarlet Witch) and has the ability to run super fast. Being children of Magneto, Pietro and Wanda joined the Brotherhood, a band of mutants that refused to bow down and ultimately believed in mutant superiority over humans. Pietro’s allegiance has been questioned once or twice, joining the Brotherhood, the Avengers, and even the X-Men, but he can ultimately always be seen as loyal to his sister. Quicksilver has battled with his conscious before, but that’s what makes him such an interesting character, and someone that we can relate to. Not everything is so black and white.
Powers: Not only is Pietro super fast, but he has the ability to think at superhuman speeds, making us all feel dumb in the process.
Like most DC characters, The Flash has been reimagined many times, and as such there are many characters that have held the titled: Jay Garrick, Barry Allen, Wally West, and Bart Allen. The Flash is a huge member of The Justice League and has been ranked as 8th of the top Top 100 Super Heroes of All Time on IGN. The story typically goes that The Flash was given his powers through a chemical accident, and as such spends his time fighting crime. His common villains are Captain Boomerang, The Reverse Flash (or Professor Zoom), and my personal favourite, Grodd.
Powers: Moves at lightening speed which allows him to pass through objects and can tap into the speed force; this allows him to travel through time. Plus bonus! He’s faster than Superman.
I think it’s save to say that The Flash beats Quicksilver out right. Although Quicksilver has an interesting backstory and straight up loyalty to his sister, The Flash is consistent, stronger, and all around better. Plus, The Flash came out first so, bragging rights!
