Wish List: Who Should Play A James Bond Villain

The James Bond franchise has been around for years. And while there’s been some amazing actors to fulfill the legacy role left behind by Sean Connery, I thought it would be fun to look at some actors who should play Bond villains.

Now that Spectre is out, it’s possible that Daniel Craig will no longer continue playing the iconic role. Which would be a shame, as he’s been pretty amazing, second only to Connery himself.

Below are some kick ass actors that should consider taking to franchise in a new direction as a villain. Do you agree with my list? Who would you cast as a Bond villain?

Sean Connery
Admit it, seeing the original Bond playing a villain would be nothing short of epic. He’d make the best villain there ever was. Tricking Bond at every corner. Plus, fans would practically have a nerdgasm with this switch.

Kevin Spacey
Is there any role that Kevin Spacey can’t play? I’m thinking no. Just imagine him in House of Cards, Horrible Bosses, Superman Returns, or his quick appearance in Se7en that made the movie what it is today. As a Bond villain, Spacey would bring fear, intelligence, and destruction to the role.

Harrison Ford
I think that Harrison Ford would become a sympathetic villain; he’d be one with a nobel cause, perhaps a man that had all the right intentions but steered towards the wrong path. Someone that Bond, and audiences, would feel remorse for defeating.

Ian McKellen
We’ve already seen Ian McKellen play one of the best villains of all time with his role of Magneto in the X-Men series. McKellen would bring class to the role and be a force to reckon with. He’d play a game of wits against Bond, and I hate to say it, but the audience may just root for him over Bond. He’s just that amazing.

Angelina Jolie
Who ever said that a Bond villain has to be a man? In a world where women are prodominantly just seen as eye candy or a “Bond girl”, Angelina Jolie would be a difficult villain for Bond to defeat. Not only is she beautiful, but she can throw down in a fight with any man.

Bryan Cranston
Ummm, Breaking Bad. Need I say more?

Charlize Theron
I have such a girl crush on Charlize ever since her role as Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road. Her role as a villain would be completely different from Angelina Jolie’s. I imagine her character being played the same whether she was played by a man or a woman.

Tilda Swinton
Tilda Swinton absolutely terrifies me. And I could see her terrifying Bond and audiences as a villain.

Liam Neeson
I’d like to see Liam Neeson step into the role of a bad guy. He’s obviously a fantastic actor and plays the role of a hero incredibly well. But I’d still like to see how menacing he’d be as a Bond villain. It would be interesting, no?

Peter Dinklage
We’ve seen him play a game of thrones, but I’d like to see him engage in a game of wit against Bond. Dinklage would be such an interesting villain because he’d fight Bond with intelligence over Bonds typical physical opponents. This would be an intriguing obstacle for Bond to overcome indeed.

Anthony Hopkins
I’d love to see Anthony Hopkins bring back to life his iconic Hannibal role as a Bond villain! Except of course, the whole eating people thing. I don’t think Bond needs to deal with all that drama.

Benedict Cumberbatch
I may not be the biggest fan of J.J Abrams Star Trek films, but I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed Benedict Cumberbatch’s portrayal of Khan. He’s an excellent actor and he played the role perfectly. Just imagine a Bond villain like that! It would be nothing short of genius.

Jada Pinkett Smith
This may seem like a stretch, but I promise it’s not. Jada Pinkett Smith doesn’t play, she’s one tough lady that gets what she wants, when she wants it. Watch the first season of Gotham, then tell me that you can’t see her playing a Bond villain…minus her weird accent she had in the show.
