The biggest night in Hollywood finally happened, The Oscars. This year, The Oscars was one of the most talked about events due to it’s lack of diversity in the nominees (once again), and everyone was dying to see, not just the winners and fashion, but how host Chris Rock would address these concerns.
Like the comedian he is, Chris Rock’s opening speech was hilariously executed to shine light on the issue that has plagued the Academy for so long. And while some of his jokes fell short or on deaf ears throughout the night, I think he did a good job on looking at the issue.
The big reveal last night was that Leonardo DiCaprio FINALLY won a well deserved Oscar for his role in The Revenant. The film also took home Best Director award. But honestly, I was only there for Lady Gaga. Her powerful performance Til It Happens to You allowed Gaga to open up about being a rape survivor. She was accompanied by a handful of other survivors on stage with her and brought the Oscars and me to tears. Simply beautiful.
Check out the stars that shone on the red carpet. Who stole your number 1 spot?
