Giorgio Armani Joins The Ranks Against Fur

Following in the footsteps of Hugo Boss, Giorgio Armani has gone fur-free (applause emoji)! The Humane Society of the United States President and CEO Wayne Pacelle announced this past Tuesday that the designer has decided to stop using fur in all his group brands starting this fall.

Fashion is finally taking steps that Stella McCartney has been preaching for years, taking a stand against the use of fur in fashion. Hallelujah and pass the peas! We’ve got another fashion forward and inspirational thinker among us.

“Technological progress made over the years allows us to have valid alternatives….that render the use of cruel practices unnecessary as regards animals,” said Mr. Armani as quoted in Pacelle’s blog post. “My company is now taking a major step ahead, reflecting our attention to the critical issues of protecting and caring for the environment and animals.”

Well said sir, well said.
