Looks like some good news for the Harry Potter world! Jude Law has been cast as a young Dumbledore in the next Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them film; let’s hope he does the role justice.
With the disappointing portrayal and casting choice of Grindelwald in the previous Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them played by Johnn Depp (should have just kept him as Colin), Jude Law as Dumbledore is most welcome news!
The script was written by J.K. Rowling is said to “move deeper into an increasingly dark time for the wizarding world, where Newt Scamander and our other heroes have to decide on their allegiances.” So she must have given her stamp of approval on the casting choice. This will be a different Dumbledore than we’re used to seeing. I feel like he’ll be full of regret after the events leading up to his sister’s death and how his relationship with Grindelwald ultimately failed.
Director David Yates stated that, “Jude Law is a phenomenally talented actor whose work I have long admired, and I’m looking forward to finally having the opportunity to work with him. I know he will brilliantly capture all the unexpected facets of Albus Dumbledore as J.K. Rowling reveals this very different time in his life.
Admit it, you can’t wait for Law and Depp to have an epic wand-wielding throw down!
