It seems as though Robert Pattinson will become the new Dark Knight in Matt Reeves upcoming take on Batman. Ben Affleck is out, and Pattinson may be in.
Taking up the mantle of the new Dark Knight, the internet has lost its mind over the swirling casting rumours regarding Pattinson. Because, if there’s one thing we can guarantee, it’s that nerds will use their keyboards as a weapon to rage out.
I think Pattinson will do a wonderful job. It’s been years since we’ve had to endure Twilight, and he really is a great actor. I’m sure he can project the brooding and dark nature of Bats that we’ve all come to love. To be honest, Twilight wasn’t a good look for anyone, but he has proved himself as a talented man since those films wrapped back in 2012.
But you know what would even better? If Pattinson played Terry McGinnis, Bruce Wayne’s clone that takes up the mantle of Batman years in the future. You know what I’m talking about, Batman Beyond. That would be so cool! And a story we’ve yet to see on the big screen.
We could bring back Val Kilmer to play the grumpy old Bats trying to find his place in the world as he Mr. Miyagi’s Pattonson. And maybe this time, the film will see Terry end up with Maxine over his annoying girlfriend. I can’t even remember her name, that’s how useless she is.
